Fashion Face-Off: Olivia Palermo vs. Millie Mackintosh

One is a New York it-girl and the other is a London it-girl, both of whom share a flare for fashion. Both fashionista's  rose to fame after appearing in reality TV shows detailing the lives of the upper middle class, and these two beauties are identical in so many ways so it only makes sense to pair these ladies off against each other in a fashion face-off! The two will go head-to-head in four fashion rounds in the following categories: 1) Best Red Carpet Look 2) Best Day-time Look 3) Best Airport Look and 4) Best Dog-walking Look!

Let the fashion face-off commence!


1) Best Red Carpet Look 

  
We can't deny that both outfits are daring in their own way - one is not far off from resembling an Oscar and the other screams Angelina Jolie and 'the leg'. Olivia channels true Hollywood glamour in this sparkling gold dress and jacket but on this occasion, the gold-on-gold ensemble is a bit too much for my fashion liking. On the other hand, we have Millie who has opted for a more simplistic look, a black dress with a sweetheart design and an eyebrow raising slit. Millie is definitely playing safe with this outfit choice but nevertheless she wins this category as I feel Olivia has gone a little too OTT with her choice. Olivia 0 - 1 Millie.



2) Best Day-time Look 

I love that both girls aren't afraid to add a bit of colour into their day-time wardrobe with their choice of trousers here. Olivia has taken on this season's patterned trouser trend and may I say that she has nailed it! I like how Olivia has toned down the trousers with a simple white blouse yet she adds true New York chic with her black buttoned jacket. Also major style cred for incorporating her luscious red bag with her outfit! I am also in love with Millie's outfit here but sadly I wouldn't look twice if I was walking down the street next to her. Olivia 1 - 1 Millie. 



3) Best Airport Look 

What is it with us girls and the obsession with getting overly dressed up for the airport when in reality it is the most stressful and tiring experience that we put ourselves through?! Between lugging our gigantic suitcases up to the check-in desk, surviving mini heart attacks at the weigh-in, frantically re-dressing at security, and legging it to our gate on-time, I really see no sense in getting dressed up just to be herded into a tiny rocket with dodgy food and terrifying toilets. Millie is a girl that knows what I am on about as she opts for an ever-so-comfy maxi dress and a simple brown belt, HOWEVER Millie makes an airport fashion faux-pas as she teams her maxi with wedges... I don't know about you but, girls who wear heels or wedges to an airport are filed into the same category as those girls who choose to wear 1,000 bangles and has to take every single one of them off at security while holding up the rest of us! Fair enough if you can walk in your wedges but if you can't, just don't expect any help from the other passengers as they pass you by running for the fire exit while the plane is being submerged in icy cold water! I know at first glance Olivia's outfit is uber glam but she wins this category as she leaves her beloved heels at home for once. Olivia 2 - 1 Millie

4) Best Dog-walking Look

The jury's out on this one I'm afraid! It all depends on whether you prefer Olivia's classic put-together look or Millie's laid-back boho style...

Overall I have to announce that the lovely Olivia Palermo has come out on top of this Fashion Face-Off but Millie was definitely tough opposition! Both girls have their own unique style and it can be difficult to pair the two off against each other. Nevertheless I will be keeping a close eye on both girls in the future for some fashion inspiration.
